Wow, is this really happening? I can’t believe this is actually happening. I have a BLOG!
First and foremost, I have to thank God for placing this desire in my heart. Without Him, there would be no “Flourish”. I want to thank Him for blessing my team and I with fresh ideas every time we gather to work on this unique project. I have always known God to be faithful, but sitting here writing my first blog entry and you reading it has given me a fresh reminder of his goodness and commitment to me. The glory will never be for me, but it will always be for Him.
With that being said, welcome to “Flourish”! My name is Alexandra Desir, and I am the founder and creator of this beautiful platform. I created this site for three specific reasons. First, to introduce you to a fantastic man named Jesus. Now, I know some of you visiting my website may or may not be saved or even know Jesus for yourself, but guess what? THAT IS OKAY! Together we will explore and get to know him more than ever before. Here is where I find the beauty in all of this...God is waiting for us with his arms wide open. That’s how much He desires for us to have a relationship with him.
As we get to know Jesus and spend some time in His presence, we will FLOURISH in our season of singleness! Let me start by saying that although singleness is one of our main topics, this doesn’t mean that only singles are “allowed” to reap the benefits of this site. I believe that whether you are single, in a relationship, or even married, there is something here for you. The sole purpose behind me discussing singleness is because NOBODY TALKS ABOUT IT ENOUGH, and if people talk about it, it's about eighty percent negative (I’m just guessing here lol, but you get the point). When talking about singleness, I want to highlight the positives because I genuinely believe that there is a lot of beauty and reward in this specific season.
Lastly, let’s talk about life. Let’s be real; life is hard! As I am writing this first blog entry, I am currently living amid a global pandemic, while figuring out how Montclair State University will safely reopen. I want to talk about all of it. Let’s talk about the highs and lows of life because, as we all know, life has a lot of those. After you’re done reading each blog entry, be sure to leave some comments down below.
